Ratnik Miniatures -next sets available to pre.order

The next two sets of metal Ratnik figures are available to pre.order from Gaming figures. They’re on their way to Griffin for moulds to be made and current turnaround time is 4-5 weeks.

The first metal set has sold out but is on reorder and I managed to paint a full set

They were a joy to paint and I think simple is the way to go

Ratnik Miniatures first set now available

I’m pleased to say that I have received the metal casting of Igor Karpov’s first set of 18th century civilians.

Griffin have done a first class job in the mouldmaking and casting the detail on these is excellent.

They will be in the shop tomorrow

Blog name change

Just a short post to say that as I no longer own Crann Tara I didn’t want to delete the blog so I thought I’d change its name. I’ve done the same with the Facebook page.

The title is pinched from Charles Grant who almost always has a section in each of his books under this heading where he reviews the actions he has fought and gives a glimpse to the future, I thought that was quite apt for this blog.

I will still be converting  and possibly casting some pieces but they will not be for general sale. There may be pieces that will be available to blog and to forum members. 😁

Take care.

CRANN TARA MINIATURES HAS A NEW OWNER

You will all be aware from previous comments that the success of Crann Tara has brought with it it's own problems for me, mainly the increasing demands on my time and also the ability to keep creating new product.

Dave Ryan the owner of Caliver Books ( https://www.caliverbooks.com) came to the rescue with an offer to buy the business and continue to take it forward, so as from the 1st July Dave/Caliver will take over the running of Crann Tara.
All orders up to the 30th will be processed by me and I ask ( if you can ) that you don't place any orders today (30th June) as a lot of work has to take place to prepare for the transition.
All my stock and moulds will be delivered to Caliver shortly but in the meantime continue to place orders as normal from the 1st and keep your eyes open as I know there are a lot of new releases coming very soon.
It has been 9 years since Crann Tara was created and it feels a bit like your child leaving home and the journey with many of you has been a good one. Thankyou for all your support and helping me develop this dream.
Finally I will still be selling Ratnik Miniatures they have gone for casting at Griffin they will be available to pre.order from my colleagues shop here https://www.gamingfigures.com/.../Ratnik-Miniatures-18th... from today.
Many thanks everyone.
If you have any questions don't hesitate to get in touch

SUMMER SALE

 Summer Sale.

It is looking more than likely that with the ongoing increase in metal prices I may have to increase prices slightly from July.

So to offset that

Starting from today until the 25th June I am offering a 20% discount on orders over £45.00.

The sale doesn’t include unit deals, Hessians or the Fife and Drum AWI range as these are already discounted and it will be restricted to stock items only – no back orders.

Just enter the code Summersale21 at checkout and all should be taken care of – any problems message me.

Ratnik Miniatures

Igor Karpov sculptor and owner of Ratnik miniatures has agreed that I can cast his 18th century figures in metal for resale. Igor is selling these excellent figures in resin and the first set of 10 civilians is on its way to me. By the time I get moulds made etc I think it will be the end of July before we see them available in metal.

They will be sold as a set of 10 figures.

A second set has also been sculpted and has gone for resin casts and they will be on their way to me soon!

Igor is an excellent sculptor and captures the period really well.

Watch this space for updates.

Flags of War restock.

Just a quick note to say I have updated the web shop with the Flags of War stock for the Jacobites and the Government army. So the militia regiments, Marines and Dragoon regiment flags are now in stock.

I have also put the first 20 standards for the French in the shop this includes the Irish Brigade. Iain makes great flags and his range is expanding at pace.

New figures for release

Having put this post on my Scotia Albion blog by mistake I apologise and repeat it here!

I’ve just received the latest set of sculpts from Andy Stadden. Designed to accompany Stuart Insch’s next publication there are Indian Labourers ( could also be used as early Sepoys ), British Sepoys, French Sepoys and Havana militia .

Hopefully they should be available in 8-9 weeks.

Comments and suggestions for future sculpts are welcomed

Bateaux Arrive

First and foremost can I thank everyone who has bought the General Montcalm figure, £415 was raised and has been sent to Richards widow, so thank you.

On a brighter note Martin at Warbases has done me proud in making some Bateaux and some ladders for the assault teams.

After talking to a number of customers we have ended up with two bateaux - one has been designed from the scale drawings, the second is what I’m calling Wargame friendly as some customers just want to place figures on the craft, One of the photos shows the ‘friendly’ bateaux with a few figures on 20mm bases .

The ladders consists of a set of four and they will be sold with the assault team and everything should be in the shop tomorrow.

New arrivals and In Memory of Richard Ansell

 IN MEMORY OF RICHARD ANSELL

I received the metal masters of the last set of sculpts Richard did for me.
One set is General Montcalm both mounted and dismounted - I have decided that all the sales from this set will be given to his widow Coral. It may not be a lot but I feel it is the least I can do and as this was the last personality he sculpted then it would be good if the figures were a recognition of his work.
They will be in the shop tomorrow £7.50 a set

The other pieces are shown below, the majority of which have been checked over and sent to Griffin for production moulds.

I also received the assault group but I can’t find any ladders to pose them, I will be using the ladders from Warbases to sell with the figures.

 EARLY SPRING SALE

Having completed a stock check on the majority of figures I hold and with no shows on the cards until July? I thought it was time to have an Early Spring sale. So starting today and until the 14th March there is 20% off all orders over £60.

As usual this does not include unit or army packs which are already discounted. Neither does it include the Fife and Drum range or Flags as a stock check is still to be done on these and I will hold another sale on the AWI range later in March.

Just use the coupon code EarlySpring2021 at checkout.

Please note that any items that are on back order will take an average of four weeks to receive from the caster at present.

Any problems just e.mail and I will sort it for you.

New Greens

Richard sent me photos of the next set of figures for release, they will be going to Griffin for casting next week.

It’s a nice mix, we have Montcalm (mounted and dismounted), Canadian militia, militia Officer and drummer, then the start of an assault party (French although pretty generic). Some casually marching French infantry, a sapper charging forward with axe and a mounted French Officer to accompany the already released charging French Infantry.

A pretty mixed bunch 😁

I hadn’t appreciated that I’m into my 10th year as Crann Tara and now with 205 production moulds and I don’t know how many different figures we’ve come a long way I have plans to take Crann Tara forward, we will still see new units appearing but I want to start releasing more supernumeries, figures for potential us in vignettes/ dioramas like the assault party but we shall see.
